Karma? Fate? Coincidence?
Notice: In this post I will be mentioning God. If this offends you, please do not continue reading.
In order to put things into perspective, I need to list the following extra curricular activities that I am currently involved in.
1. Chorus – Tuesday nights
2. Quartet- Sunday afternoons, and another night during the week
3. Chorus Board member- Meet once a month, take care of projects as needed
4. Track Coach for K-4th grade girls. Monday nights and Saturday Track Meets
5. Athletic Committee Secretary- Once a month, take care of projects as needed.
So when I was asked to consider being the percussion instructor for HHS, I had to think long and hard about whether I could stand having another iron in the fire, and whether my family responsibilities would get neglected.
Last year, I was the 5th and 6th grade track coach, and they met on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I had just about made up my mind NOT to take the percussion job because I just could not find a way to make it work out. Then the coordinator of the track program called me and told me that he needed to switch me to the k-4 girls, and that he would only need me on Monday nights.
So all of the sudden, I have a free night. I went to my first meeting to talk to the kids and the director, and it turned out that their best night, for now, was Thursday. I don’t believe in coincidences like this. I think that God wants me to work with this line, cause their was no other way that all of this could have fallen into place like it has.
The other clue that I got was that so far, I have been welcomed with open arms and the school seems to be committed to having the program go in the direction that I want it to.
So things are going well, and I am excited. I will have more to talk about later
